Alex qualified in medicine from University College London Medical School (2009). He completed paediatric specialty training in the UK and a three-year fellowship in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto (2020).

Alex is a consultant in paediatric endocrinology and metabolic bone disorders, working both at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He has clinical interests in Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva, Denosumab treatment for RANKL-mediated disorders, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and the care of young people in healthcare transition. Alex also has a passion for education and training and completed a Masters in Medical Education (2017).
