Many congratulations to our cellular and molecular pathology service at RNOH for successfully completing its annual UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) inspection and transitioning to the new BS EN ISO 15189:2022 standards.
Assessors praised the department's continued pursuit of excellence and staff enthusiasm was noted as a key strength. By achieving BS EN ISO 15189:2022 accreditation, medical laboratories demonstrate their dedication to excellence, patient safety, and the highest standards of quality management in laboratory services.
The inspection, which concluded on 1 November 2024, took place on four separate dates over a three month period. This year's assessment was particularly significant as it included the national requirement to transition to the updated 2022 standards, replacing the previous 2012 version.
The accreditation under the new ISO standards ensures that the department continues to meet rigorous international quality benchmarks, ultimately benefiting patient care and diagnostic accuracy. Well done to all the team for meeting these exacting quality standards.
