Strike action is taking place in September

Industrial action is planned from Tuesday 19 September until Saturday 23 September. This will include one day when both junior doctors and consultants will be on strike.

Consultants will take part in national industrial action for 48 hours from 7am on Tuesday 19 September to 7am Thursday 21 September. 

Junior doctors will take part in national industrial action for 72 hours from Wednesday 20 September until Saturday 23 September. 

Consultants and junior doctors will be on strike from 7am on Wedenesday 20 September to  7am on Thursday 21 September.

The strike action may impact services at both our Stanmore and Bolsover Street locations. Please be assured we are working hard to ensure we minimise disruption to services.

To help us safely manage the impact of the industrial action we may need to postpone some planned procedures and outpatient appointments. If we do, we'll contact you directly if your is affected to rearrange your appointment as quickly as possible.

Throughout this period, please be aware that many NHS hospitals will be under additional pressure, and we expect emergency departments and urgent treatment centres to be extremely busy. Emergency care will be prioritised and patients seeking urgent treatment will be seen.

If you or anyone you know does not have an urgent or life-threatening condition, please use other non-hospital services for advice and treatment during this time, such as:

• GP practices (they will continue to be open during the strike)
• Walk-in centres
• Pharmacies
