Range of services
The young adult hip service is a consultant led service that offers clinical assessment, imaging, diagnosis and treatment of hip conditions such as developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), femoro-acetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS), avascular necrosis (AVN), Perthes, tendinopathy and osteoarthritis (OA).
Treatment in this service can include investigations or diagnostic injections, non-surgical management using rehabilitation or surgical management such as hip arthroscopy or peri-acetabular osteotomy (PAO).
Treatment will be tailored to each specific patient and at all stages, a plan of care, involving review of xray and scans will be discussed fully in the clinic with the patient.
This service is suitable for young adults over 18 years referred to RNOH with hip concerns.
The trust does not accept paper referrals. All referrals must be made electronically. We can accept referrals from NHS hospitals via the Pathpoint system.
We can accept referrals from GP practices via the ERS system. Please select one of the Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons.
All referrals will be triaged and booked into the appropriate Consultant team clinic
