Before you have your operation, you will need to attend a pre-assessment session with the pre-assessment team. This is to ensure that you are fully fit for your operation and explain some of the things that will happen during your stay in hospital. Currently, you are likely to be admitted to the ward the day before the operation where the physiotherapists will come and see you. They will do what is called a lung function test to analyse your lung function before the operation, so we are sure you get back to the same after your operation. The occupational therapists may come and see you as well.
